MUCUS RAINBOW

This is a surprising picture for many: light diffraction on slug mucus

from really close…

I am a biologist, so basically I like all the animals. However, slugs are really not my favorite ones. Especially from the time we have a garden. Dry slug mucus is something easy to recognize. It is white shining stuff, a proof that you have pest is your property.

However, when I have seen it from a certain angle at one morning I just got amazed! Such disgusting thing can actually be pretty!

We could not have life on this planet without light. We could not have photography without light.
