CLOSER!

Peacock (Pavo cristatus) feather

Devil hides in the details. Just as the essence… I like to observe things closer, nut just superficially. Not just nature, but many other things as well. We all can learn a lot this way.

Picture shows a couple square mm detail of a peacock feather. Barbs and barbuli are visible, which keep the feather together. Truly fantastic. Not all barbuli are in their proper place, but the feather is still functioning. Anyway, this picture might help to understand why birds might spend hours with preening. They have to position all little parts with their bill. Their life might depend on such precision.

So its is worth to approach closer! As much as possible.
